Madeline Finn and the Library Dog

Young Madeline is a struggling reader who wants nothing more than a gold star – the glimmering reward for a good week of reading at school. So she crosses her fingers and wishes on a real star. But after a week of slow progress, and more than a handful of reading frustrations, she fears her wish may not come true. That is, until she meets Bonnie, a dog at her local library's "Read-to-Dogs" program. Bonnie is a good listener. She doesn't laugh when Madeline reads slow or gets stuck on a word. Sometimes a good friend makes all the difference. And maybe that star isn't out of reach after all.
