What to expect

After signing up, you will be part of a webinar and workshop where Marissa Valdez discusses her experience with style indecisiveness, then details how she refined her own style as a children’s book illustrator. She will explain the pros and cons of working in multiple styles. The workshop element will be an interactive event of live critiques so make sure to submit images of both your art and your influences in advance. Marisa will be selecting a few from those submitted to explain how she would refine the artist's style to better match their influences. Attendees will be given a style worksheet to fill out beforehand. They are encouraged to write about their style influences and fill out a diagram. Optional: if they would like to be considered for the live critique, they can submit their art and three style influences.
