Join us for our monthly meeting!
Although we are meeting in person, we will also provide a Zoom link to those who Register.
Join us on August 10 as author (and Austin SCBWI RA-Emeritus!) Samantha M. Clark shows us how to craft our best stories.
Writing a story is like creating a cake. Every story starts with a plain batter, but with flavor, layers and design, each story becomes unique. In this presentation, Samantha M Clark shows you how to layer themes, emotions and other details into a manuscript to make it standout with agents, editors and readers.
Samantha M Clark is the award-winning author of THE BOY, THE BOAT, AND THE BEAST and ARROW (both published by Paula Wiseman Books/Simon & Schuster) and AMERICAN HORSE TALES: HOLLYWOOD (Penguin Workshop/Penguin Random House), as well as the GEMSTONE DRAGONS chapter book series (Bloomsbury). She lives with her husband and two funny dogs in Austin, Texas, and helps other writers through her Your Writing Mentor newsletter.
The meeting starts at 10am. However, if you can not make it in person due to distance or health, we will do our best to stream it live on Zoom. Please register to get the zoom link in your My Events section of your SCBWI account. This meeting is open (and free!) to both paid Members and Registered Users. If you have questions during the presentation, please put them in the Zoom chat.
By registering and/or attending our event, you agree to abide by the SCBWI Anti-harassment policy.
