Aixa Pérez-Prado is an Argentine born author/illustrator, sensitivity reader, translator, and university professor. She has a BA in English/Creative Writing, an MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), and a PhD in Social Science & Education. She is currently a Professor of Education at Florida International University. Aixa is a Global Learning faculty member who teaches pedagogy for language learning, cross cultural communication, peace linguistics, and diversity of meaning. Her educational publications include, LAF with the Habits of Mind: Strategies and Activities for Diverse Language Learners ( 2021), and Children’s Literature Aligned with SDGs to Promote Global Competencies: A Practical Resource for Early Childhood Education (2024). Aixa also writes and illustrates books for children that highlight issues of identity, belonging, diversity and communication across cultures. Her kidlit publications include, CITY FEET (Reycraft, 2023), OUR WORLD: ARGENTINA (Barefoot Books, 2023) and MERCEDES SOSA: VOICE OF THE PEOPLE (Lee & Low, 2024).
